The problem this app solves

A refund is only part of a return. Cashiers also need to know whether the item is still returnable, how much has already been refunded and whether the returned unit belongs back on the shelf or in a separate inspection location.

Extend the native POS refund workflow with return windows, proof, reasons, quantity limits and permitted stock dispositions. Manager exceptions and tracked-product checks keep the decision connected to the original sale and the returned item.

Features that support your daily work

Extend the native Odoo POS refund workflow instead of replacing it with an unrelated return engine.

Define policy by company, POS configuration, customer/category, product/category, order age, amount, payment method, and tracked-product status.

Support return windows in days/hours, no-return products, exchange-only products, final-sale flags, and manager-only exceptions.

Calculate remaining returnable quantity as original sold quantity minus every accepted prior refund/return, including returns from other terminals/sessions.

Prevent duplicate or excessive refunds through server-side atomic validation and idempotent original-line linkage.

Require original order/receipt proof according to policy while supporting controlled no-receipt manager exceptions.

Capture controlled return reason per order or line, mandatory note/evidence where configured, and cashier/manager identity.

Assign per-line stock disposition: return to saleable stock, quarantine/inspection location, or scrap, with policies and manager restrictions.

Validate lot/serial identity, original sold lots where available, and disposition requirements before accepting tracked-product returns.

A practical example

Illustrative workflow — the available actions depend on your configuration.

A customer returns part of a previous purchase. The cashier checks the remaining returnable quantity, records the reason and selects a permitted inspection disposition for a damaged unit. The accepted return retains the authorization and stock destination.

Return workflow

1. Cashier retrieves the original POS order and chooses lines to refund.
2. The system calculates remaining returnable quantities and evaluates window, product and proof rules.
3. Cashier captures reason/evidence and chooses permitted saleable, quarantine or scrap disposition per line.
4. An exchange-only item adds a replacement product in the same cart; an expired/no-receipt exception requires manager authentication.
5. Server validation atomically accepts the return, creates native financial/stock outcomes, and records immutable snapshots.
6. Manager reviews return and disposition reports, including quarantine and scrap outcomes.
